Multi-resolution community detection based on generalized self-loop rescaling strategy

چکیده
Community detection is of considerable importance for analyzing the structure and function of complex networks. Many real-world networks may possess community structures at multiple scales, and recently, various multi-resolution methods were proposed to identify the community structures at different scales. In this paper, we present a type of multi-resolution methods by using the generalized self-loop rescaling strategy. The self-loop rescaling strategy provides one uniform ansatz for the design of multi-resolution community detection methods. Many quality functions for community detection can be unified in the framework of the self-loop rescaling. The resulting multi-resolution quality functions can be optimized directly using the existing modularity-optimization algorithms. Several derived multi-resolution methods are applied to the analysis of community structures in several synthetic and real-world networks. The results show that these methods can find the pre-defined substructures in synthetic networks and real splits observed in real-world networks. Finally, we give a discussion on the methods themselves and their relationship. We hope that the study in the paper can be helpful for the understanding of the multi-resolution methods and provide useful insight into designing new community detection methods. Discrimination of Power Quality Distorted Signals Based on Time-frequency Analysis and Probabilistic Neural Network
Recognition and classification of Power Quality Distorted Signals (PQDSs) in power systems is an essential duty. One of the noteworthy issues in Power Quality Analysis (PQA) is identification of distorted signals using an efficient scheme. This paper recommends a Time–Frequency Analysis (TFA), for extracting features, so-called "hybrid approach", using incorporation of Multi Resolution Analysis...
متن کاملObject Level Strategy for Spectral Quality Assessment of High Resolution Pan-sharpen Images
Panchromatic and multi-spectral images produced by the remote sensing satellites are fused together to provide a multi-spectral image with a high spatial resolution at the same time. The spectral quality of the fused images is very important because the quality of a large number of remote sensing products depends on it. Due to the importance of the spectral quality of the fused images, its eval...
متن کاملModified Pareto archived evolution strategy for the multi-skill project scheduling problem with generalized precedence relations
In this research, we study the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem, where there are generalized precedence relations between project activities. Workforces are able to perform one or several skills, and their efficiency improves by repeating their skills. For this problem, a mathematical formulation has been proposed that aims to optimize project completion time, reworki...
متن کاملSelf-Assembled Modular TNT Biosensor
Introduction: Increasing demand is being placed on the biosensor community to deliver sensors for military and security purposes. The Navy and Homeland Security are particularly interested in detecting explosives underwater, especially in marine and port environments. Rather than developing a unique sensor for each analyte of interest, a generalized sensing strategy that is readily adaptable to...
متن کاملMulti-Feature Object-Based Change Detection Using Self-Adaptive Weight Change Vector Analysis
Abstract: Change detection in multi-temporal remote sensing images has usually been treated as a problem of explicitly detecting land cover transitions. To date, multi-dimensional change vector analysis has been an effective solution to such problems. However, using change vector analysis makes it hard to calculate multiple directions or kinds of change. Through combining multi-feature object-b...
